DIRECTOR
BOJAN HRISTOVSKI
Bojan Hristovski is the third Director of the Agency for National Security. He was appointed to the position Director of the Agency, which is the successor of the previous security Service, in October 2024. In 2006, he began his career in the Service, which was then part of the Ministry of Interior, where from 2012 he held several managerial positions. A short period of time he was out of the security Services, being part of the public sector, however, remained dedicated to the security engagements through his academic work. In 2019, Hristovski finished his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Security, St. Clement of Ohrid University, with a thesis on a topic related to deradicalisation of foreign fighters as part of the measures for fighting against terrorism. During his almost two decades of professional career in the security field, Hristovski participated in numerous international trainings and study visits, among which worth mentioning are those related to the Marshall’s and the ILEA programmes. Hristovski and his wife are happy parents of twins.
COMPETENCES
The Agency for National Security is an independent state administration body, established with the aim to protect the national security of the country, that is to say to protect the independence, sovereignty, constituional order, fundamental human and civil freedoms and rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as other matters of interest to the national security of the state. The Agency performs it's duties in accordance the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia, the laws and international agreements ratified in line with the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia. In performing it's mandated duties, The Agency acts indepedently and without any influence by the political parties.
