Five individuals were subjects of the searches, for whom there are reasonable grounds to suspect that they are perpetrators of the crime "Terrorist Organization" under Article 394-a of the Criminal Code. A criminal complaint has been filed against these individuals to the competent Public Prosecutor's Office.
Two of the individuals have been issued a detention measure and a house arrest, respectively, while the other three individuals are already serving prison sentences for crimes connected to terrorism.
The aforementioned activities were undertaken on the basis of previously obtained information by the Agency for National Security, as well as information obtained in the framework of our strategic international cooperation.
According to the information of the Agency for National Security, the individuals, as ideological supporters of the terrorist organization "Islamic State", in the previous period conducted activities to establish connections with media propaganda channels of the mentioned organization, as well as to create a local network through which they disseminated extreme and violent narratives to incite terrorist activities in the country. As part of the group, these individuals provided logistical support to other individuals who were previously covered in the counterterrorist activities of the Agency.
The Agency for National Security remains committed to its primary preventive function, to efficiently and timely disrupt the risks and threats to national security, in order to protect the constitutional order and the safety of citizens.
