The Agency for National Security, in accordance with its powers, undertook operational-technical and analytical measures and activities in order to identify the motives and the immediate perpetrators of the attempted arson of the premises of the Jewish Community in Skopje.

In this regard, the Agency has gathered information and identified individuals – the most likely perpetrators and their logistical network, as well as several premises in Skopje, which, according to our intelligence, as part of a radical group ideologically linked to the global network of the Islamic State, immediately after the call from the aforementioned terrorist organisation in early April, carried out violent activities.

In cooperation with the Public Prosecutor's Office for Organised Crime and Corruption and the Ministry of the Interior, on 30 April 2026 an operation was carried out to detain individuals and search premises with the aim of initiating criminal proceedings and preventing future activities of the terrorist group.

The NSA remains committed to its plan for preventive action and the disruption of risks and threats to national security by providing timely information and undertaking activities in cooperation with other relevant domestic institutions.
