On the ocassion of the Day of the Agency for National Security, for the first time a documentary film entitled \u201cGuardians of silence\u201d has been produced. The film tells the story of the development of the security Serice, from the establishment of OZNA in 1944, through UDBA, SDB and the security structures in independent Macedonia, to the stablishment of the Agency for National Security in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through archival materials, testimonies and visual reconstructions, the film also addresses the work of the contemporary security Service and the challenges the country faces today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Particular focus is placed on three important areas of the Agency\u2019s work: counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and the fight against organized crime and high-level corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGuardians of Silence\u201d also features personal testimonies from former and current cases officers, who speak about the nature of their work, the responsbility it entails, and the challenges that most often remain beyond the public eye. As highlighted in the film, the greatest results of this work are often those that go unseen, but which make the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The film concludes with statements from holders of senior state positions and heads of institutitons with which ANB cooperates, who speak about the importance of partnership and joint efforts in addressing challenges, and extend their congratulations on the Agency\u2019s anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The film represents an effort to provide the public with a rarely seen insight into the work of the security Service and to present its role in protecting the state and its citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGuardians of Silence\u201d is a story about the history, work and people who stand behind the security of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
