Skopje, 31 August 2026 \u2013 In the presence of the President of the Government, Prof. Hristijan Mickoski PhD, the President of the Assembly, Mr. Afrim Gashi MA, senior representatives of the country\u2019s highest state leadership and the diplomatic corps in the country, representatives of state institutions, partner services and the media, the Day of the Agency for National Security was solemnly marked at the National Opera and Ballet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was dedicated to the institutional development of the Agency, its role in the contemporary national security system, and, above all, to the professionals who, every day and away from the public eye, carry out one of the most responsible tasks in the country - safeguarding national interests, the Constitutional order and the security of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNational security is not merely an institutional obligation. It is a responsibility towards the state, its citizens and future generations. Our strength lies in our people, the professionals who perform their duties with dedication, discipline and the highest degree of integrity, fully aware that much of their contribution will never be publicly visible. This is precisely where the true significance of their service to the state lies,\u201d emphasized the Director of the National Security Agency, Mr. Bojan Hristovski MSc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special highlight of the ceremonial event was the premiere screening of a documentary film dedicated to the history and development of the security Service, from its beginnings, through key historical and institutional periods, to the modern-day Agency for National Security. Through archival materials, testimonies and messages from domestic and international associates and partners, the documentary portrayed the security Service\u2019s enduring responsibility in safeguarding the state, as well as its transformation in line with contemporary security challenges and standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, the Director also announced the next significant steps in the development of the Agency, including the establishment of the Training Centre of the Agency for National Security as a systemic mechanism for continuous education, professional development and the creation of new generations of highly trained security personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Today\u2019s security challenges are changing at a pace we have never seen before. Therefore, a strong security Service is built not only through technology and resources, but above all, through knowledge, analytical capacity and people who continuously develop. The Training Centre should be an investment in precisely the most important resource - people, knowledge and the future capacity of the Macedonian security system,\u201d added the Director of the National Security Agency, Mr. Bojan Hristovski MSc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the ceremony, the first edition of the publication \u201cSecurity Assessment for 2027\u201d was also presented. This is a strategic document of the Agency addressing the security challenges the country is facing. The document provides a systematic analytical overview of the contemporary security environment, the risks and trends that may affect national security, as well as a foundation for further strengthening the strategic and analytical function of the institution. With its publication, the Agency is establishing a new practice of strategic assessment of the security environment and the creation of institutional knowledge that will contribute to the timely identification and understanding of contemporary threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The marking of the Day of the Agency for National Security conveyed a clear message of continuity, professionalism and development - that safeguarding the state requires strong institutions, modern capabilities, a strategic vision and people who place their professional duty at the service of the national interest.
A strong Agency means a strong security system. And a strong security system is one of the foundations of a stable and secure state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
